This morning, I read about an experiment:

Scientists dropped a rat in a jar of water in total darkness and timed how long the animal would continue swimming before giving up.  The rat lasted little more than three minutes.

Scientists then dropped a rat into the same jar of water, but this time instead of the jar being in complete darkness, a ray of light was allowed into the jar.  This rat kept swimming for 36 hours!

Without a vision - people perish.

This morning during my inspiration time I read a great line:

"What people say they want and what they are willing to work their ass off to get are two different things."

Want - if you "want" things...keep wanting until you are willing

Work your ass off - if you are "willing to work your ass off" to get things, contact me as I am ready to work my ass off to help you get it.  This is exactly what Succelsior is about.

If you've never heard that "you get what you focus on"...let me tell you that 3 days into the new year, I am experiencing just that.

Over the past few months, I've had dreams, feelings, plans conversations, etc about how 2012 is going to be a breakout year for Succelsior which will translate into just a wonderful year for me...

3 days in and already happening!!!  SO exciting!

I would leave the title of this blog post as the complete answer to the question of Why I started and run Succelsior - but I know that isn't enough for most to understand, so here's a little more:

I love you.  Whether we have met or not, I love you.  I love you for the person you are and I love you for the person you want to be.

Because I love you, I have devoted my life to helping you become the person you want to be, living the life you've always dreamed of living.  This is Succelsior!

Ask!

I just read my brother's Christmas letter and learned that he was chosen to work security for the 2012 Olympics in London...and he's asking the Navy to send him back out on a ship (and he's no spring chicken anymore), but I'll bet he gets it.

This is a great reminder to us all...if we want something...sometimes we just need to ASK!

We are both thrilled to have created something that resonated with so many people.

Working in collaboration with a fantastic local designer/illustrator, Bob Crum of brayv.co, we created the new brands/taglines below and have been selected as finalists in the Independent's competition to re-brand our wonderful city, Colorado Springs!

Our finalist design will be in this Thursday's CS Independent, so get online and vote for our new brand!

Live adventure

As I work with more clients, both personal and business, the same question in different forms keeps coming up...

In one of the books I read in the past two weeks, it said that we need to "pay attention to the signs."  The signs this book was refering to are the signs that life gives us to nudge us in a certain direction or towards a particular action.

For me - since I finished that book, I've seen/heard references to the same sign in at least 4 other books and audiobooks.  Develop a servant's spirit.
